2014 NAIAS: The 2015 Chrysler 200 Unveiled

As part of its opening for the 2014 North American International Auto Show, Chrysler brought out the chic 2015 Chrysler 200 for its debut. Despite the new features and options, this year’s base model starts out nearly $100 less than yesteryear’s iterations. With its new, sleek design that marries supple curvature with a perfect tapering from end-to-end, the 2015 Chrysler 200 will make a formidable foe for any in its class.

There are four trims from which consumers may choose: LX, Limited, 200S, and 200C. They all house a 2.4-liter MultiAir Tigershark I-4 engine that churns out 184 horsepower and 173 lb-ft of torque.

The LX comes standard with sundry features that make it rather luxurious:

  • Keyless entry
  • Push-button start
  • LED (ambient) interior lighting
  • Automatic headlights / daytime running
  • LED taillights
  • 17-inch wheels

Upgrading to other trims may include some of the following options:

  • Halogen projector headlights
  • Compass gauge
  • Touchscreen display
  • 18 or 19-inch wheels
  • Leather trim on seating
  • Sunroof
  • Heated front seats
  • Backup camera
  • Chrome accent

One of the most intriguing features is the UConnect, which affords drivers an opportunity to access a variety of media , make phone calls, and text without taking their hands off of the wheel. These displays and other controls comprise a center console that maximizes interior real estate, including a Rotary E-shift – a gear shift in the form of a knob which a driver can rotate to place the car in traditional gears (park, reverse, drive, etc).
