2014 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk 4X4

Only a few months ago, we wrote about the coming Trailhawk edition of the Cherokee. It was touted as hearkening back to the glory days of the Jeep brand with its off-road capabilities. The reviews were mostly positive, especially those drafted by enthusiasts of “mudding” – if you’re a Jeep guy, you get it. Though it is more diminutive than the Grand Cherokee, the Cherokee Trailhawk actually capitalizes on its size by being more maneuverable in the most daunting of conditions. It doesn’t submit to nature; instead, it governs the wooded tracks with its predatory strength and handling.
C|Net, a website that reviews tech products, hosts a section for cars. It recently provided a very concise evaluation of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. In it, the website notes the upgraded suspension, Active Drive Lock 4X4 system, and Uconnect 8.4AN System with navigation as some of the better components of the vehicle. It also mentions the Trailhawk’s Selec-Terrain system, which assists mastering “serious obstructions.”
The “Bottom Line” of its assessment is that the Trailhawk 4X4 “brings off-road capability to a class dominated by soft-road wannabes, but its daily drivability suffers slightly for it.” It does not elaborate on how the drivability suffers, but we’ll assume the vehicle is void of some superfluous creature comforts a true Jeep Man doesn’t need.
Our best suggestion is to find out for yourself, so stop down at AutoPark Chrysler Jeep to jump behind the wheel and see if you believe this beast “suffers” in any way.
